System 44 - Available only to students currently enrolled in a reading class within HBUHSD.
ReadWorks - This site includes Lexile-level reading passages that can include audio as well as comprehension & vocabulary quizzes. Independent students can go to site and sign up for a student account. Additionally, readworks.org has an option to have the stories, comprehension questions, and answer choices read out loud to them, so students do not have to be readers to complete these assignments. (Parents will need to create an account)
Newsela - Newsela is a curated collection of current event articles for learners in grades 2 through 12.
CommonLit - Free access to a range of literature based content that is searchable by literacy techniques for grades 3-12.
