Ms. Christine Robbins has served as the orchestra director in Harrisburg School District since September of 2002. The string program was cut from the district in the summer of 2012 and restored in the summer of 2016. During the interim, she served as the classroom Music teacher at Ben Franklin School.

Ms. Robbins has her B.S. in Music Ed. from Indiana University of Pennsylvania where she studied violin under Dr. Stanley Chepaitis and Delight Malitsky. She has continued her education with post-graduate studies at Lebanon Valley College and other institutions and is a member of National Association for Music Education, Pennsylvania Music Educators Association, and Dauphin County Music Educators Association.

Ms. Robbins began her music career in public school at age 8 on the violin, and added piano at age 10. She continues to add instruments over her lifetime and has taught herself to play several instruments including guitar, saxophone and is looking forward to learning to play her grandfather's banjo. She believes strongly that learning is a lifelong activity.

Ms. Robbins is also a fierce advocate for her students and their rights, and is an active member of the National Education Association, Pennsylvania State Education Association, and Harrisburg Education Association. She serves on Educational Justice and other PSEA committees as well as secretary and committees for HEA. She regularly attends conferences and professional development workshops.
