History & Purpose: In the spring of 2002, a group of Oahu Math League students at Hawaii Baptist Academy launched the Middle School Math Challenge to encourage students to develop an interest in mathematics. Since then, HBA’s National Honor Society has sponsored this event annually. Our hope is that by participating in this event, schools will unite in a friendly, competitive environment that encourages school fellowship and interest in mathematics.
