Kindergarten Registration
Success Starts Early
Kindergarten registration is a key milestone in your child’s educational journey. At Haywood County Schools, the process is simple and kicks off April 29-May 3. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please contact your child’s school.
Steps to enroll your child:
Confirm your student is age 5 on or before August 31, 2024.
Identify your designated school by your home address.
Gather the required documents below.
Attend the Kindergarten Registration event at your designated school and meet the teachers!
Complete the registration packet and return it to your school before the first day.
Documents Required for Enrollment:
Proof of Residence
Birth Certificate
Proof of Parental/Legal Guardian Identity
Proof of Immunization
Elementary Schools:
Children should be registered at the elementary school based on their home residence. Parents and guardians may call the Haywood County Schools Central Office at 828-456-2400 if they do not know which district they reside in.
If parents/guardians miss the above special enrollment dates, they may still enroll their child anytime during regular school hours; however, it is strongly recommended to enroll children as early as possible before the school year begins.
