Kindergarten registration is a key milestone in your child’s educational journey. At Haywood County Schools, the process is simple and kicks off April 23rd. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please contact your child’s school.
Confirm your student is age 5 on or before August 31, 2026.
Identify your designated school by your home address.
Gather the required documents below.
Attend the Kindergarten Registration event on Thursday, April 23rd, from 4-6PM at your designated school and meet the teachers!
Complete the registration packet and return it to your school before the first day.(Screening Dates will be in August, before the start of Kindergarten.)
Proof of Residence
Birth Certificate
Proof of Parental/Legal Guardian Identity
Proof of Immunization
Children should be registered at the elementary school based on their home residence. Parents and guardians may call the Haywood County Schools Central Office at 828-456-2400 if they do not know which district they reside in.
It is strongly recommended to enroll children as early as possible before the school year begins.
