My name is Cathy Gross. I was born and raised in Libertyville. I have worked at Hawthorn District #73 for 24 years. When I began teaching, I taught first and second grades. Since 2005, I have been the Teacher Librarian at Townline Elementary and Hawthorn School of Dual Language. Nothing gives me more joy and teaching and sharing books with students!

Me llamo Cathy Gross. Nací y crecí en Libertyville. He trabajado en el Distrito Hawthorn #73 durante 24 años. Cuando empecé a enseñar, impartía clases de primero y segundo grado. Desde 2005, soy la bibliotecaria de maestros en la Escuela Primaria Townline y la Escuela Hawthorn de Lenguaje Dual. ¡Nada me da más alegría que enseñar y compartir libros con los estudiantes!

I have worked as a Learning Skills Specialist in the past and this recent foray into Librarianship has been very fulfilling. I have a background in Human Development and Family Studies and an endorsement as a Library Information Specialist. I have worked as a researcher, teacher trainer, and curriculum developer before working in schools. I truly enjoy reading with my students and helping them find their next read!

He trabajado como Especialista en Habilidades de Aprendizaje y esta reciente incursión en el mundo de la Bibliotecología ha sido muy gratificante. Tengo formación en Desarrollo Humano y Estudios Familiares, y una acreditación como Especialista en Información Bibliotecaria. Trabajé como investigadora, formadora de docentes y desarrolladora curricular antes de trabajar en escuelas. ¡Disfruto muchísimo leyendo con mis alumnos y ayudándolos a encontrar su próxima lectura!

I have worked in public libraries in the past and I am also a Registered Nurse. In addition,  I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology.

I have loved books, libraries, and reading since I was very young. Helping children discover the magic within books is a wonderful and rewarding way to spend my days. I am happy to serve both Townline Elementary and the School of Dual Language as the Library Assistant since 2022. 

He trabajado en bibliotecas públicas y también soy enfermera titulada. Además, tengo una licenciatura en Psicología. 

Desde pequeña, me han fascinado los libros, las bibliotecas y la lectura. Ayudar a los niños a descubrir la magia de los libros es una forma maravillosa y gratificante de pasar el día. Me complace servir tanto en la Escuela Primaria Townline como en la Escuela de Lenguaje Dual como asistente de biblioteca desde 2022.
