Auditions Information

General Notes:

• Preparation is important. Consider watching a junior or full production of Into the Woods to understand the character singing and how the songs fit into the show.

• On the day of your audition, go to the music room and have a seat. You will be taken to the audition room (choir room) in a group of 4-6 at a time. When you are finished with your audition, please leave with your parents as soon as possible. You will not be allowed to roam the hallways. If you do, your audition will not be considered for casting.

• Each audition group will last 5-10 minutes. Walk in the door with confidence. State your name and wait for instructions.

• You will sing the audition song first. Please only sing more if we specifically ask you to do so.

• After you have finished singing, you will read from the audition script. Roles will be assigned in the room, so prepare for all of them. You might be asked to read multiple times and for different roles. 

• During the last section of your rehearsal, you will be asked to do the audition dance. If you cannot dance, please step-touch or clap to the beat of a song; we need to see that you can hear the beat.

• Do not stress :) Have fun and show off your talent!
