Transportation Services

Transportation services are provided with district-owned vehicles and contracted services for the safe and efficient transportation of students to and from school. Hawley Public School District provides regular school day transportation, to and from, to students who reside within the school district boundaries and live six blocks or more from their assigned building, or to eligible students who must cross an area identified as a traffic hazard.

Transportation requests for open enrolled students will be reviewed on an individual basis.

Register your students for a bus route for 2022-23 (due August 15th).

All Hawley students, regardless or whether or not they've ridden the bus in the past, will need to register for a route annually. Registration link: https://forms.gle/HdRAaVNyykaeRaxN9

Those needing to request busing should contact Brett Mayer Schmit, Transportation Coordinator, 218-483-3555.

How do I add my child to a bus route?

Transportation Request forms are available in the Elementary and High School offices and should be filled out for anyone requesting transportation for their child(ren).

Where can I find my child's bus routes and time?

Please login to JMC and on the left hand column choose "BUS." If the information for your child(ren) is missing or incorrect please contact Transportation Supervisor, Mrs. Brett Mayer Schmit.

How early should my child be ready to meet the bus?

Students should be waiting at their stop 5 minutes prior to their scheduled pick up time. Bus drivers are instructed to wait 30 seconds at each bus stop. Our bus route bus fleet is now equipped with GPS monitoring. Links to view the live progress of the bus are emailed to route families at the beginning of each school year, the links are also available on the Bus Tab of JMC.

My child will not be riding the bus today, who do I contact?

Please call the office of your child's school and let them know as early as possible. If you know in advance please fee free to contact the Transportation Supervisor, Mrs. Brett Mayer Schmit.

Can my child ride home with a friend?

Students who will be attending sleepovers, parties, or going to a friend's house after school are not authorized to ride a bus. Parents need to make other transportation arrangements.
