Mental Health Services

School-based mental health counseling services through The Village Family Service Center are available at both the high school and elementary during the school day. Parents/guardians should contact their child's school counselor for more information and/or a referral. School-based mental health services are being offered in-person this year, although tele-health may be available by arrangement. Families who have already been referred and have questions can contact The Village directly, either through their online portal or by phone at 701-451-4811 .

      • REACH (Rural Enrichment & Counseling) has a variety of providers - The Village Family Service Center, Valley Christian Counseling, and Rape and Abuse Crisis Center. Services through Rape and Abuse Crisis Center are always free of charge. FirstLink provides these services across the entire state of North Dakota and parts of Minnesota.

Mental health support provided via text message 24/7.

The call specialists help those who are having thoughts of suicide themselves or who have a concern about someone - 24/7.

Prairie St. John’s is a 110-inpatient bed psychiatric hospital facility offering services for children, adolescents and adults to address mental health issues, substance use addiction or co-occurring disorders. Prairie offers a full psychiatric and addiction Continuum of Care. This Continuum of Care includes inpatient hospitalization, partial hospitalization (day treatment), residential treatment, intensive outpatient services and clinic services.

Hawley school counselors are available to work with and support students in-person and via Google Meet, Google Chat, email, and phone. Students and families can connect with school counselors via the referral/appointment request forms below or by the contact information posted on the school counseling websites.
