Who can vote in the bond election?
Anyone who is a registered voter residing within the Hawkins Independent School District boundaries can vote in this election. You do not have to own property or be a taxpayer to vote. Every vote counts! Regardless of how you vote, we encourage you to do so, your vote is your voice! For voters who are not already registered, you may become a registered voter by having your voter registration card post-marked no later than 30 days prior to the election date of May 1, 2021. If you are not sure if you are registered to vote, you can visit Texas Secretary of State website to check.
A person may register to vote by coming by the Elections/Voter Registration Office located at the following address:

A person may print out a voter registration application, complete and return to the Voter Registrar’s Office at the address listed above.
Or
A person may mail a completed voter registration application to the Voter Registrar’s Office at the following address: PO Box 970, Quitman, TX 75783.
