Intro to Design

This is a photo of a mountain.

Introduction

I signed up for this course because I really like to build things.

I want to 3d print lots of things that I would use at home.

I 3d printed a functional putter, but I want to find a way to re make it and make it heavier.

I like to spend a lot of time outside.

I don't have a favorite designer.

Sketch Book

These are my first two sketches and the cover of my notebook. The drawing of the fab lab , and the photo of Hawken's campus is from this week. I liked learning about the history of Hawkens campus.

Assignment 1

We worked on circles for daily designs one day. We used skills such as ghost circles to make them as precise as possible. On the left are my circles with designs in them. On the right is a more detailed version of one of my circles.

Assignment 2

This was a challenge where we had to create 16 different types of the same letter. I liked this activity because it allowed me to be creative in what I created.

Assignment 3

We used our initials to create logos for ourselves. First we made as many as we could. After that we picked three to make with more detail. Finally we chose a final one to enlarge and really put effort into.

For this assignment we were tasked with narrowing down our logos to 3. From there we took our best one and created it in the most amount of detail on a 4x4 piece of paper.

Adobe Illustrator 2b

For this assignment we played around in adobe illustrator. We used different skills and tools to create different objects and shapes. I learned that in adobe illustrator you can use shapes to create other shapes I wouldn't have ever thought of.

Laser Cut Keychain

This was our first full project useing adobe illustrator. We first had to design a keychain in adobe illustrator with specific dimensions. We then transfered it over the the main computer so we could laser cut it.
