Reservations are required for all non-Hawaii residents to visit Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve. Tickets are released two days in advance at 7:00 a.m. HST on the official Honolulu Department of Parks and Recreation website. Tickets sell out almost immediately.

Shark's Cove, located on Oahu's North Shore in Pupukea Beach Park, is a premier, free-entry snorkeling and diving spot within a Marine Life Conservation District, characterized by rocky, tide-pool-like, lava rock formations. It offers rich marine life, including turtles, octopus, and diverse fish species, but it is best visited in summer due to dangerous winter waves.

Kahe Point Beach Park, popularly known as "Electric Beach," is one of Oahu's premier snorkeling and scuba diving destinations located on the sunny west shore. The park gets its nickname from the adjacent Hawaiian Electric power plant, which discharges clean, warm water into the ocean through two large underwater cooling pipes. This warm water creates a thriving artificial reef that attracts an abundance of marine life. Parking is easy. There are showers, bathrooms, and a large, shaded pavilion
