EARLY REGISTRATION
April 6 at 8:30 a.m.
Early Registration is for Remote, Targeted Support and Improvement (TSI), and Comprehensive Support and Improvement (CSI) Schools.

“Remote school'' means any public school, as defined in section 302A-101, excluding a charter school governed by chapter 302D, that is a high school:
(1) Located at least a one-hour drive away from the next nearest public high school; or
(2) Located on the island of Lanai, Molokai, or Niihau; provided that if a high school is combined with an elementary, middle, intermediate, or other lower level of schooling, that the entire school shall be deemed a high school for the purposes of this subsection.

COURSE DATES

ENROLLMENT PROCEDURE
Students must be enrolled full-time in a Hawaii DOE or charter school in order to take Hawaii Online Courses (HOC).
Students and Parents: Students must meet with the Counselor or Site Facilitator at their primary school to discuss and determine course selection(s). Schools register students in the desired course(s) using the online registration site.
Students must provide a valid email address. Gmail is preferred as other emails may filter messages into the spam folder.
Students may only take up to two HOC courses a semester.
HOC is a supplementary program provided by the Hawaii DOE and secondary courses are offered to students free of charge during the school year. A designated School Site Facilitator is responsible for registering students for semester and yearlong courses. (Note: Summer courses are usually fee-based. A parent or guardian must register their child for summer).
MIDDLE SCHOOLS
Middle school students may register for only Algebra I, Geometry, World Languages, and middle school Computer Science.
It is recommended that middle school site facilitators consult with HOC instructors prior to registration to determine the appropriateness of course content and placement for students.
Students must be self-motivated as courses are rigorous requiring much time and dedication outside of regular school hours.
Students must attend mandatory online meetings as required by instructors. Times are determined by instructors but generally held in the evenings.
STUDENT ORIENTATION
ALL students must complete the mandatory Student Orientation course by the deadline specified in the registration confirmation. If students have already passed the orientation in Canvas during a previous semester or summer, they do not need to complete this requirement again.
Students will be dropped from this program if they do not pass the Student Orientation.
DROP POLICY
Students will have up to 6 weeks after the start of the session to drop a course. For year courses, this 6-week grace period occurs in the first semester only. After 6 weeks, students may not drop the course. The student must remain in the course until the end of the session and receive the grade earned. Grades will be posted to your official DOE transcript.
