I enrolled in Purple Maia's Digital Creators course, to gain training and skills in digital storytelling, marketing, and graphic design, and rooted in moʻolelo and aloha ʻāina. This stylescape and physical product mock-up is for a fictional case company called ʻĀina Community Initiatives, a place-based nonprofit, agricultural & ecological stewardship company.
I created a graphic mark that best reflected the brand’s core identity; selected typefaces that communicated the brand's tone; developed a color palette and imagery collection that captured the brand's emotional and aesthetic character; and designed simple products that reflected the brand's visual identity. As part of my creative residency under the theme of 'Climate Change and the Environment', I researched and localized three key issues, namely land use changes, biodiversity loss, and extreme weather events, to the Singaporean context
I produced a multiformat series of eight written pieces comprising personal essays, non-fiction opinion pieces, infographics and photo essays.
I also storyboarded, directed and edited one short documentary video, and organized an in-person capstone event -- a facilitated wildlife exploration to learn about Singapore's nocturnal fauna.
