This collaborative project includes funded opportunities for two PhD student researchers, one at UHM and one at MSU. Students will be able to join the deployment and recovery cruises (expected for 2028 and 2029, respectively, each ~ 20 days), and will work with scientists from UHM, MSU, and the USGS on tasks as outlined below. All will participate in final synthesis and interpretations of results. Interested students are encouraged to reach out to prospective advisors prior to submitting an application.
