We hold our registration before the beginning of each semester. Once our registration period begins, you will receive a form via email that you fill out regarding what courses you want to take.
Next, participants will seek out faculty approval to audit the course with designated course instructor. A hardcopy and electronic faculty approval form will be provided after the pre-registration period is completed.
Once you’ve been approved, you will need to work directly with your instructor to gain access to course content and materials such as Laulima and other platforms. Course textbooks can be purchased through the UH Bookstore. Academic materials through the UH Hamilton Library may not be accessible due to restrictions on academic licensing.
Senior Citizen Visitor Program/Nā Kūpuna Program participants may register for up to two courses for Fall 2024, undergraduate courses at the UH Mānoa campus. Participants are eligible to participate in up to 2 courses either online and in-person classes.

Participants must provide health clearance to the NK program with their registration to participate in-person.
Submit a TB test result that has been administered on or after August 20, 2017,
Submit the TB Control Form which is available in our office and online (click here for form). A U.S. licensed physician or healthcare provider’s signature is required on both the TB test result and the TB Control Form. TB Clearance results can be submitted to our office as a scanned copy sent to nakupuna@hawaii.edu or as a hard copy.
If born after 1957, MMR immunizations are also required.
Lastly, one Tdap (Tetanus-diphtheria-pertussis) vaccine is required and must be administered on or after age 11.
COVID-19 vaccination is no longer required to participate but it is strongly recommended by UHM Health Services Office that participants have COVID-19 vaccination while on campus.
Participants are subject to UHM COVID-19 Policies such as wearing a face mask on the UHM property and indoors.
All courses, with the exception of some art classes, are free. Art classes charge varying fees for the materials used.

If you would like to look at a hard copy, they are available at the UH Mānoa Bookstore on campus.
There is parking available across the campus for varying fees. The Lower Campus parking structure allows you to park from 5:00 am – 4:00 pm for a flat rate of $5. There is also parking available on the upper campus, where most classes are held, for a rate of $3.00/half hour. For more information visit our page for visiting campus.
No, student IDs are not available to participants of this program.
The UH Hamilton Library is open to the public. Sinclair library remains closed to the public. If you are interested and borrowing books from Hamilton, please visit their website on becoming a "guest borrower."
Unfortunately, gym membership is not available at this time to participants of this program.
Public computers are limited to the computers in the Hamilton Library ground floor which will require Visitor Internet Access (VIA) that is provided to our participants during registration.
VIA will also give participants access to the campus WIFI and can connect to with your own personal device such as a laptop, tablet or smartphone.
