Hamilton Library has one of the largest collections of Edward Gorey’s ephemera, artistic work, and selected writings. Through the generosity of John A. Carrollo, the Gorey collection continues to grow and highlights the playful nature of Gorey, the whimsy of his work, and of course the impact he has on art today. This Special Collection we used to highlight aspects of the man, his art, and his influence, which we share with you today. We also learned of his interest and deep influence from East Asian performing arts and his impact on community theatre. The whimsy and whacky of Gorey is too much for the 2D presentation today and we hope to have sparked a little curiosity of your own to explore more of this man.
