Project Summary:

There is a lack of quantitative data on traditional Hawaiian canoes; this project serves to provide that data. Using three-dimensional rendering software like AutoCAD, SimFlow, and Paraview, we were able to create and perform tests and simulations of canoe designs in Hawaiʻi, in hopes that these new creations will aid the Polynesian Voyaging Society with their canoe design processes.
