We were proud to present an outdoor, socially distant performance of HONK! A Musical Tale of the 'Ugly Duckling' on May 14 & 15. After the seats of our auditorium being empty for a year, and regulations for COVID-19 preventing us from taking the stage, our students took to the great outdoors!
HHS presents, A Room with a View on January 30th, 2021
Filmed and performed completed remotely, this show presented the students with the unique challenge of transforming their home space into a performance venue! They learned a new set of techniques and skills to make a show happen in a remote setting, and brought the story to life in a vibrant way.
To start off our 2020-2021 season, we began working with a small cast in person to perform a live radio play based on Alfred Hitchcock's 39 Steps. This was a great experience for students to work on developing unique characters and to experiment with one of the most interesting and popular forms of entertainment in the early 20th century. Performances were live streamed and we were excited to start the year back in person!
Our first staged reading was written by Holly Hepp-Galvan and called, The Movie Set Mystery. Our students had the opportunity to work together virtual in this murder mystery in their first zoom performance of the school year.
Our second staged reading, The Snow Show, by Lindsay Price, took place right before December break as students performed a collection of scenes all about our love/hate relationship with snow.
Our final staged reading, Student Council v. Andi Johnson, took place inside a virtual meeting of the student council as they debate whether or not they'd like to impeach their student president.
