Lights
Lights
After reading the script and meeting with the Directors, the lighting department helps create a lighting plot for the show. This means they design all of the lights for different scenes when we need more light, less light, spotlights, or more or less different colored lighting! This team uses a computerized light board to make this design come to life on the stage!
Sound
Sound
After reading the play and meeting with the Directors, the Sound team prepares all necessary sounds (music, sound effects, background etc.) & equipment (microphones, monitors etc.) for the show including any required pre-show or post show music mixes. They perform daily sound checks at the beginning of all technical rehearsals and performances to ensure that all sound equipment is operating properly. The sound crew assists with all mic changes and needs during all performances and rehearsals backstage in the sound pit.
Props
Props
After reading the script, the prop team develops a list of necessary props for the show. In collaboration with the directors, the prop team acquires all of our props, while some are made by our tech department and some are made by our set design crew! Our props team is in charge of the prop table(s) for shows, ensuring that everything is prepared and in working order before all rehearsals and performances. If something is not usable they must work behind the scenes to fix it! Then at the end of the show, they are responsible for ensuring everything gets put away in the correct locations so that it is accounted for the next day.
Stage Management
Stage Management
Student Stage Managers are responsible for keeping track of cast members, set pieces, and miscellaneous details during rehearsals and productions of stage performances as directed by the Production Team. They are on headset backstage to relay any information from the tech booth and help to give cues backstage. They attend all rehearsals and assist the Production Staff in any assignments given. They also assist in maintaining notes which contain all cues, technical notes, blocking, and other information pertinent to the show.
