Welcome to the Seebald lab!
.
.
The Seebald lab explores the synthesis and reactivity of 2H-azirines as functional groups in biological probes and covalent inhibitors, with a particular focus on employing these moieties for studying bacterial glycosylation. In parallel, we develop synthetic strategies to access bacterial carbohydrates using a polysaccharide-based approach.
Our work sits at the interface of chemistry and biology using the strategic design and synthesis of small molecules to answer fundamental biological questions.
