My goals as a teacher are to help students learn and grow as mathematicians, whether in achieving mastery of mathematical material, in improving their ability to clearly communicate mathematical ideas, in achieving resilience and persistence in their mathematical practice, or in deepening their understanding of what it means to do mathematics.
To achieve those ends, I am interested in using active classrooms (including, but not necessarily, flipped classrooms), designing structures and assessments to improve communication skills, and creating lively, inclusive, and collaborative classroom communities.
These are not meant to substitute for current syllabi and further course information on Moodle.
Calculus: Dynamics and Integration (Math 118, Fall 2023) [this course is currently being phased out of the curriculum]
Multivariable Calculus using Linear Algebra (Math 216, Spring 2025) [this course is currently being adjusted in its prerequisites and place in the curriculum]
Analysis (Math 317, Fall 2025)
Topology (Math 335, Spring 2019) [this is the IBL version of the course, which is not the way it is always run]
You can find my current courses in this part of the Department of Mathematics and Statistics web page.
