Room 11 and Room 3 have been learning about ANZAC day. We made ANZAC day wreaths on Thursday. They look great!

Room 11 have been learning to measure in MM, CM and M. We decided to measure objects around the classroom to help us practise.

Room 11 students had to draw their three favourite parts of the Easter long weekend and write sentences about it. They then shared their news with their table group.

Reminder: No school next Tuesday because of Easter. I hope you all have a lovely Easter break with your families!

This week we made our own monsters for writing. We then wrote similes using 'like' or 'as' to make comparisons.

We had fun playing squash this week!

Term 1 Week 9 and 10 homework Room 11

This week we made fairy bread for Instructional writing. We discussed the steps we needed to take to successfully make fairy bread! We then wrote our own instructions, making sure we started each instruction with an adverb to ensure they are specific. The fairy bread was delicious!

Term 1 Week 8 homework 2018 room 11

We had fun learning how to say "How are you?" in Maori and then learning different emotions to respond back to such as, happy, tired, good and cold. We will practise these words during the week, so we begin to know these off by heart!

We had fun on Friday taking part in a science experiment. We used milk, dish washing liquid and food colouring to complete the experiment. It was interesting to see what happened to the colours when we dropped the dishwashing liquid onto the food colouring and milk. We are going to complete some instructions for this experiment on Monday!

We have been focusing on our listening skills during news this week. We had to listen to the key information our buddy was sharing and repeat it back!

Well Done George and Manea for receiving certificates at our whole school assembly this week!

We are lucky enough to have Ally Gamby come in every Friday to teach Year 3 and 4 classes Maori. This week we focused on sounds and the Maori alphabet. We learnt a Waiata to help us too.

This week we tried to describe a teacher in the school by using adjectives. We then had to share them with a buddy and they had to guess which teacher their buddy was describing!

Term 1 Week 6 homework Room 11 2018

Everyday before writing, we complete quick writes. This week we have been focusing on using adjectives to describe an object. We then shared them back with a buddy and highlighted the adjectives we had used.

Term 1 week 5 homework Room 11

Swimming Week 3!

We focused on our Term 1 value of Hauora this week. We created people and wrote down the different ways we can show Hauora!

Term 1 Week 4 homework 2018

Swimming started this week! Luckily it was nice and sunny for our first session!

We played a problem solving game with Room 12 this week! We had to try and get the hula hoop from one end of the line to the other without letting go of our hands! We did pretty well!!

Well done Anja and Tom for receiving certificates at our middle school assembly this week. Keep up the great work!
