Course Outline
German 2 is a course designed to bring students towards the NYS Checkpoint B level of language performance.
Goals of the Course
Strengthen foundational skills acquired in Middle School/German 1
Deepen and expand student's knowledge of vocabulary, grammatical accuracy and confidence in communication.
Prepare students to enter Level 3 (FLACS Checkpoint B)
Build students' appreciation and love for the German language

Description of Proficiency goals According to the Common European Framework/ACTFL Standards
B1 Threshold or intermediate low
Can understand the main points of clear standard input on familiar matters regularly encountered in work, school, leisure, etc.
Can deal with most situations likely to arise while travelling in an area where the language is spoken.
Can produce simple connected text on topics that are familiar or of personal interest.
Can describe experiences and events, dreams, hopes and ambitions and briefly give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans.
