Using cardboard, hot glue, scissors, I created a steamboat because I like boats a lot and so did my partner.
During this process, I learned how to make models of a steamboat .
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to modeling or constructing because we made a model of a steamboat from scratch.
A challenge I overcame on this project was trying to figure out how big the pieces had to be in order to make it perfect. I was able to do it by asking my partner to use the other piece to measure so they would be the same size.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change how choppy the front was. The reason why I would change it is because it would make it look less damaged.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the construction trades CTE program at Hastings High School.
My project connects to careers in engineering design because I'm designing and fiddling with things to makre it better.
