• Using easel and xcarve I created a block of pine wood with my name and a evergreen tree because I'm from Washington and evergreen tree represents Washington.

• During this process, I learned computer design has to be accurate to get a good finish.

• The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Empowered Learner because i picked what i wanted to do for my project.

• A challenge I overcame on this project was getting the design to full cover the wood. I was able to do it by manually adding things to it.

• Given a chance to do this again, I would change the pace The reason why I would change it is because i took to much time for something this simple.

• Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, and Marketing.  My project connects to the Construction trades CTE program at Hastings High School.  

• My project connects to careers in carpentry because they work with wood and build things out of it.
