Planning Questions
Are you working by yourself or in a team?
myself.
What materials will you need for your project?
iPad, computer, and micro bit.
What is your plan to create in this project?
a game.
What unique qualities will your project have?
structure or game
Using my micro bit and my computer, I created a cross, heart, game, and other fun stuff because I wanted to try to make a game and a heart. During this process, I learned that you can do mostly everything with coding and creativity.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Knowledge Constructor because you need to know how to use coding effectively and understand how to create designs.
A challenge I overcame on this project was learning how to do more complex coding tasks. I was able to do it by being at school, where I had access to resources and support from my teachers.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change how long it took to complete the project. The reason why I would change it is that it wasn't very fun to feel rushed, and I would like to explore more ideas and creativity.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, and Marketing. My project connects to the Computer Programming CTE program at Hastings High School.
My project connects to careers in software development and game design because it involves coding, problem-solving, and creativity, which are essential skills in those fields.
