Using sphero's an iPad, and some tape, my group and I created a maze with tape for my sphero. We created this because we wanted to have our sphero try and go through a maze. We also created this because Mrs. Pletcher gave my group and idea. We also had other groups race our sphero with their sphero.
During this process I learned how to use a sphero. I also learned how to use the app and make it do really cool things. I learned how to drive the sphero as well. One other thing I learned how to do is how to customize it in the app.
A challenge I overcame during this project was controlling it. Sometimes, the joystick drive wouldn't go in the same direction I wanted to but I got it to eventually work. Another challenge I overcame was with the sphero mini. They were so small, it was harder to control than the sphero bolt. But, I overcame that challenge by getting used to it and getting better at it.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to global collaborator because I worked with many others for this project. It also ties to this because I used many different technologies to create this project.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to computer programming because I used a program to work with my project. This project connects to careers in programming and architecture because my group used programming for this project. We also created a maze which would connect to architecture because we made a maze for this project.
