8P4-Laser Engraving

  Using a glowfordge, I created a guitar with an airgraft carrier as the neck because I am going to give it to my grampa because he is in a band and he was in the navy.

During this process, I learned how to use a glowfordge.

The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to  empowerd learner because I made a design that I wanted and engraded it in wood.

A challenge I overcame on this project was figuringout how to get the board to the right hieght. I was able to do it by stacking thin boards to get the good board to the right hieght.

Given a chance to do this again, I would change the darkness of the  laser burning. The reason why I would change it is because I used walnut and it is not that dark and i think the design would look better darker.

Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, and Marketing.  My project connects to the business management CTE program at Hastings High School.  

My project connects to careers in wood working because I used wood to make art.
