7P6 Circuit Playground Express

     Using a circuit, my computer, and my iPad, I created a project that included a song, a Star Wars blaster effect, and clap-activated lights because I thought it would be a fun and creative idea. During this process, I learned how to code.

The seven standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project connects to the Empowered Learner standard because I chose to learn coding based on my own interests.

One challenge I faced during this project was accidentally deleting my code. I overcame this by starting over and rebuilding my work.

If I were to do this project again, I would focus on one main idea instead of trying to do too many things at once. I would make this change because having too much going on made the project more difficult to manage.

Hastings High School’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) program offers courses in Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, and Marketing. My project connects to the Computer Programming CTE program because I used coding to control features like changing colors and playing sounds.

This project also connects to careers in computer programming because I wrote code to make lights turn red and to create sound effects.
