I made a code
Using a computer, Circuit Playground, and an iPad, I created and coded a project that made the Circuit Playground light up red and produce a "ba ding" sound. This was my first time using a Circuit Playground, and I wanted to try it out to explore how coding can make electronics respond to commands. It was exciting to see my code work, and it helped me learn more about how circuits and coding come together to create interactive designs.
During this process, I learned not to give up. At first, the project seemed challenging, and I made a few mistakes along the way. However, I kept trying different solutions, and eventually, I figured out how to make the Circuit Playground light up and make the sound. This experience taught me that persistence and problem-solving are important when learning something new.
My project ties to the "Empowered Learner" standard because I had to take responsibility for my learning by watching instructional videos to understand how to use the Circuit Playground. As I worked through the project, I became more independent in figuring out what to do and how to solve problems. This helped me develop the skills to learn on my own and grow in confidence as I mastered new concepts.
A challenge I overcame on this project was using something I had never used before, the Circuit Playground. At first, I wasn't sure how to get started, but I learned how to program it and make it work by following tutorials and experimenting. By using the Circuit Playground, I was able to tackle the challenge and gain new skills in coding and electronics. This experience showed me that even when something is unfamiliar, I can still figure it out with patience and effort.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the color of the Circuit Playground. The reason I would change it is because the red color reminded me too much of Christmas, and I wanted to try something more unique. I think experimenting with different colors would make the project more interesting and give me a chance to be more creative with my design.
My project connects to the Computer Programming CTE program at Hastings High School because it involved coding and working with technology to create a functioning project. In this project, I used programming to control the Circuit Playground, which is similar to the skills taught in the Computer Programming program. By learning how to code and solve problems, I gained a better understanding of how programming can be applied in real-world projects, just like the skills I would develop in the CTE program.
My project connects to careers in computer programming because the main idea behind using the Circuit Playground is based on computer programming. To make the Circuit Playground light up and make sounds, I had to write and adjust code, which is a key skill for computer programmers. This project gave me a hands-on experience with how programming works in electronics and helped me understand how computer programmers use code to bring ideas to life in technology.
Thank you, ChatGPT, for your help! You made the project easier and helped me learn a lot
