The Humanities are the study of human experience. Humanists apply a variety of critical methodologies to the close study of written and visual texts to understand how people across cultures and time periods record, interpret, and create what it means to be human. Mission

The mission of Hastings College’s Humanities Division is to foster ethical and empathetic study of human experience through critical thinking and close textual analysis.
