Housing Selection 2026-2027: What You Need to Know

Get ready for housing selection! We've made some exciting changes this year based on student feedback to make the process easier and less stressful.

Simplified Applications: Returning Student Housing Application: For all other housing options (The 1882, Traditional Halls, BVA apartments).

Key Improvements:

• Easy Application: All questions are optional except, emergency contact information and if you have read the new housing policy. Those 2 questions are required to complete before you are able to submit.

• Housing Options:

  • Juniors/Seniors: Bronco Village Apartments or The 1882 Studios

  • Sophomores: The 1882 or Traditional Halls

  • Freshman: The 1882 or Traditional Halls

• Gender Inclusive Housing: Available in The 1882, Traditional Halls, and select BVA 4 person apartments. These communities are designed to be inclusive of all gender identities.

• Roommate Matching Period: RoomSync becomes available immediately after you sign your lease and will remain open through June 15th. We will send you a private RoomSync link specific to your Housing Selection. To successfully match, please ensure all members of your group have selected the same floor plan; otherwise, you will not be able to find or select one another in the system. 

Important Dates:

• Rising Seniors*: Portal opens Wednesday, March11th at 1:00 PM.  ( * will be Seniors in Fall of 2026)

• Rising Juniors: Portal opens Wednesday, March 18th at 1:00 PM. ( * will be Juniors in Fall of 2026)

• Rising Sophomores*: Portal opens Wednesday, March 25th at 1:00 PM.  ( * will be Sophomores in Fall of 2026)

• Incoming First-Year Students: Separate application and portal access begins April 1st.

• RoomSync Portal: Portal closes on June 15th. 

What's Still the Same:

• 3-Year Campus Residency Requirement.

• Phased portal access is based on years at HC. *Not academic credits.

• Roommate matching is still available but not required.

• Summer housing applications open April 15 and close May 1st.

Tips for Success:

• Use a desktop or laptop computer – the portal is not mobile-friendly.

• Plan ahead and understand the process before the portal opens - read the documentation on this website - there are screenshots!
