The Hastings College Foundation wants to equip you for success with your upcoming fundraising activities. We will:
Connect you with other resources on campus;
Work to close communication gaps with other campus offices as you plan and implement your fundraising activities; and
Help you identify possible opportunities and pitfalls as you navigate fundraising.
To gather as much information early in the process, we’ve developed several tools for the 2025-2026 academic year. These include a fundraiser application, a fundraising checklist document, and a fundraising checklist form.
For the person seeking to organize the fundraising activity, here’s the process:
Get initial approval from your Executive Committee Leader to do a fundraising activity.
No later than 2 months before the proposed activity, complete the 25-26 Fundraiser Application. This will be routed to:
Your Executive Committee Leader for written approval or denial (in the event of significant changes since initial approval was provided);
To the Executive Director of the Hastings College Foundation, for approval or denial within two weeks of receipt;
Other members of the Alumni/Foundation Office will receive copies of the request to help inform the decision.
You, your Executive Committee Leader, and your direct supervisor upon approval or denial by the Foundation.
Upon approval of the application, the Director of Engagement, Campaigns, will send the 25-26 Approved Fundraiser Checklist (text only) and the 25-26 Approved Fundraiser Checklist form. Alumni/Foundation Office staff will follow up with questions and additional information based on the form responses.

Frequently Asked Questions:
Why implement this process? We appreciate the needs on campus are many while time and resources are limited. Creating tools to close communication gaps and gather information early in the planning process will protect your time and resources.
This process helps the Alumni/Foundation Office manage fundraising campaigns across campus as well as manage how many fundraising requests our alumni and friends receive. It also allows the Foundation to communicate with campus on priorities.
Where will the links live? The links will live on ourHC and periodically be shared through campus emails.
Will family and friends campaigns for athletic teams need to be approved through this process? No although it is helpful to notify the Alumni/Foundation Office staff in case they receive inquiries. Non-athletic teams will.
Will this process change from year to year? It likely will change based on what’s working, new technologies, and new ideas. The Alumni/Foundation Office will provide you with details as the process evolves.
Will the Foundation take a portion of our profits? No. The credit card fees will be deducted from the amount raised but we do not take a percentage above that. In some instances, the Business Office will need to capture taxes in accordance with state laws.
