Director Bio

Mr. Brian Hopkins has been teaching band for almost two decades. He received his Bachelors in music education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and a Masters Degree in Education administration from California University of Pennsylvania. While at IUP he was a very proud member of the IUP Marching Band. From 2009 to the spring of 2020 Mr. Hopkins has served as a middle and high school band director in the Woodland Hills School district, while there he oversaw all of the district's high school bands. In 2013 he was the guest conductor for the Westmorland County Elementary County Band. Mr. Hopkins has two passions in the music world, Middle School band, and Marching band. He has worked with various high school bands in western Pennsylvania including our very own Hempfield Area High School,  Woodland Hills, Gateway, Mt. Lebanon, Baldwin and many others. Outside of teaching band Mr. Hopkins enjoys spending time with his wife Michelle and two beautiful daughters Grace and Samantha.
