Finding a Book
Destiny is our online library catalog. Click the image to search for books, audiobooks, and eBooks.
Sora Reading App: Provides access to all the eBooks and audiobooks of the Westmoreland Library eBook Network.
To log in: Log into your G-mail account and click on the apps options (the 9 little squares in top right of your screen).
Scroll down to Sora, by OverDrive. Click on the Sora icon.
Under the Hempfield Area School District click on the arrow and then the green box to add a public library.
In the next box, type Westmoreland eBook Network and select “This is my library.”
eBooks and Online Audiobooks: Click on MackinVia, or download the MackinVia app, to access thousands of eBooks and online audiobooks.
Many tutorials on how to access MackinVia can be found here.
To log in: Under "school/library name," type "Hempfield Area High School." Use your Google username and password to log in.

The Harrold Library is open for book return/checkouts and research help on Days 3 & 6 from 7:30-2:45.
Clubs and Activities
This club is for students who love reading AND competition. Students in this club will read from a select list of books, created by the Westmoreland County of School Librarians Association, and compete at the Westmoreland Interscholastic Reading Competition in the spring.

Silent Book Club is a relaxed, low-pressure reading club where meetings highlight a specific genre. Students bring any book they like within that genre and enjoy quiet, independent reading time in the library. There are no assigned books, no required discussions, and no pressure, just time to read and unwind.

FAQs
The Harrold Library is open on Days 3 and 6 for students to check out book or get research help.
The fiction section is organized by genre, then alphabetically by author's last name.
The nonfiction collection is organized by the Dewey Decimal Classification System.
Students can check out five (5) items.
You can borrow items for three (3) weeks. For teachers, the borrow period is 30 days.
You can renew items two (2) additional times if you need them longer. You can renew by seeing the library staff or You can also login to use the “My Stuff” feature through the online catalog interface, Destiny Follett.
