Why Our Elders Matter

The Author's Response: 

The eldery mean a lot to me because I have lost many people in my life both old and young. I've come to value the knowledge and experience older people have and can share; especially since volunteering at the nursing home this past year. To me, they have already lived a full life and cared for so many people, that it is our turn to care for them. Even when someone hasn't lived a "good" life. I still believe they deserve the best treatment because when I am that age, that's how I want people to care for me. I also find myself living a happier life when I can help care for them because I know I'm providing the care and connection that so many people miss out on. I am there to be the family and provide the love when there is none present.
