This graph shows people which drug is the deadliest drug in America through 2021-2022. Fentanyl takes up a little over 50% of this graph and has almost double the amount of the next biggest killer stimulants. Each of these drugs were studied to see which ones had the highest increase through a couple of years. Cocaine had an increase of 54% from 15,883 deaths in 2019 to 24,486 deaths in 2021 (National Institute on Drug Abuse). Stimulant deaths rose from 12,122 in 2015 to 53,495 in 2021. But heroin deaths dropped from 13,165 in 2020 to 9,173 in 2021 (National Institute on Drug Abuse).Prescription opioid deaths in 2020 were 16,416 and rose slightly to 16,706 deaths in 2021 (National Institute of Drug Abuse). Fentanyl is by far the most prominent drug on the streets today with 73% of all drug-related deaths involving fentanyl in some way (Finan and Fleming).
