I knew that the border crisis was a serious situation before this project but I didn’t know just how serious. When I was brainstorming on what I wanted to do and learn more about, the border crisis popped into my head. The dispute between Texas and the federal government was currently happening. I only knew a little bit about what the dispute was about and I wanted to learn more about the details and what was happening. I am also curious about what has led to the chaos at the border in the first place. After I got into the research a little bit, I found out what had led to it. This is important because I believe that our generation needs to be more aware of what is happening in the world and in our country especially. We need to be able to do research on our own and find out facts for ourselves and not just what the news organizations want us to hear. I hope that people learn what is happening at the southern border and what is being allowed to happen. I want people to learn what is coming into our country through our ill protected southern border. When it talks about the people in power believing it to just be a nuisance is true because they don’t visit the border, and they try to put a bandage over a problem that is going to keep recurring. They don’t put the protection on the border that is needed to secure it and keep the United States citizens safe.
