Depth and Complexity

Thinking about our thinking will be intertwined within our units and lessons to allow students to become critical and creative thinkers who problem solve.

The goal of Depth is to help students to expand their knowledge and expertise while maintaining a balance with the academic content. The goal of Complexity is to challenge students to make connections across disciplines, both over time and between disciplines. The ultimate goal is to move students to expert knowledge of content.

There are eleven elements of Depth and Complexity that we will discuss this year and implement in our studies, increasing the knowledge of the subject and allowing students to make meaning from what we are learning to apply it to their everyday lives and homeroom classroom.
