During term 1 we will be inquiring into the following central idea:
To identify positive and negative actions and attitudes.
To understand that people have the ability to make their own decisions.
To understand the consequences of different actions.
We have been looking at artwork by an artist called Paul Klee, we have been mixing paints to create different shades, this technique is called 'tinting'.
We have been thinking about consequences in our Inquiry work. We have discussed the story of Goldilocks and how she could have avoided upsetting the bears. We decided to make her a healthy snack so she wouldn't steal the bear's porridge.
We have been creating art work inspired by Claude Monet. Claude Monet was a famous artist, he was born in Paris and lived in France.
Claude Monet was born on 15th November 1840 and died in 1926.
Our artwork is inspired by a piece called ‘The Waterlily Pond’.
We have been looking at art work by an artist called Louise Bourgeois. Bourgeois started out as a painter, but when she moved to New York she started making sculptures. Bourgeois loved spiders, and she made hundreds of drawings and sculptures of them throughout her career. She described the spider as an artist. It could spin thread and create magnificent webs. It could also mend things. Below are our clay spiders that we have made.
