About Me

Hello! My name is Ms. Plucker, and I am thrilled to be the general music and 5th grade band teacher this year! This is my first year at HMS as well as my first year teaching, and I am so excited to begin this journey. I grew up in Lennox, South Dakota, and recently moved to Spencer. Outside of teaching, I enjoy reading, spending time with friends and family, and taking care of my plants.

Education

I graduated in May 2025 from South Dakota State University with a Bachelor of Music Education. While at SDSU, I was actively involved in a variety of ensembles, including Women’s Chorus, Pep Band, Jazz Band, and Wind Symphony. I was also a proud member of The Pride of the Dakotas Marching Band, and in 2022, I had the incredible opportunity to march with the band in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. In addition, I completed two solo recitals during my time at SDSU. Music and teaching are true passions of mine, and I am eager to share my love of music with my students this year!
