Hello to my HMS family! My name is Tenee Jessen, and I am so excited to start my third year here at HMS. This year I will be serving our talented and gifted students, along with courses (STEM I/II) at the high school. My family consists of my husband (Thomas), our two sons (Barret & Cayson), two dogs (Po & Bernie), and 12 chickens! We live on an acreage outside of Everly. We both grew up in rural areas in Iowa and enjoy being close to the family farm, as well as living close to our families and friends. I received my bachelors degree from Buena Vista University in Education, with endorsements in special education, reading, and social studies. I've continued certification in science-based courses such as design and modeling through Project Lead the Way and multiple coding courses. I am currently enrolled in graduate courses, including courses for my TAG endorsement. This will be my twelfth year in the classroom! All previous years were spent teaching 5th & 6th grade students. Outside of school I love spending time with family and friends. My hobbies include fishing, kayaking, reading, and anything that allows me to use my artistic side.Â
