 About Me:

My name is Jonna Ebel.    I grew up in Hartley and graduated from HMS.  I love everything about living in a small town and that is why we moved back after college to raise a family.  Family is everything to me and my number one priority!  After college, I married my husband Korey and we have 7 kids ranging in age from 21-8.  

I received my Master of Arts degree in School Counseling from The University of South Dakota in 2003.  I have been a high school and now middle school counselor at HMS CSD and have loved both age groups and areas of the profession!  HMS has a special place in our hearts and I am blessed to have had fantastic co-workers and teaching professionals that have helped shape my kids and the students we work with each day!

Some of the Topics covered in the 5-8 Guidance Classroom:

*Problem-Solving skills - done through a variety of games and every day scenarios we may experience.

*Bullying - what is bullying and how can we help others and stop in our building.  Also what is bullying in comparison to what is rude and mean and how we handle those topics/actions differently.

*Social Situations and How to Handle Friendships & have healthy relationships

*Social Media Use 

*Mindfulness, Moving & Taking Care of your Mind
