Welcome! My name is Miss Thome, and I teach 1st grade at Hartley Melvin Sanborn Elementary. This is my ninth year teaching, and my second year in 1st grade. Prior to this, I taught 3rd and 4th grade in Storm Lake, Iowa, and 3rd grade in Phoenix, Arizona. My education background includes graduating from Spencer High School in 2008, after which I attended Iowa Lakes Community College, then transferred to the University of Northern Iowa to complete my double Bachelor's degree in Elementary and Middle Level Education. I also received my English as a Second Language endorsement from Morningside College.
I currently live in Spencer, Iowa, with my two cats, Ramsey and Grayci. I am an aunt to a spirited 6th grade niece, Haley. She and my sister, Keri, live in LeMars. My sister, niece, and younger brother Devin are my closest support system and best friends.
