I Can Statements
The following I can statements are used to assess students throughout the year. Their grade will than be depcited on the report card at the end of each quarter.
Speaking, Listening, & Language
SL 2.1 I can ask questions about text in small group conversations and large group conversations.
L 2.2 I can use the conventions of standard English capitalization, punctuation, and spelling when writing.
L.2.4 I can figure out the meaning of unknown and multiple meanings of words and phrases.
Reading
RI 2.1 I can ask and answer questions to understand information about topics and issues.
RF.2.3 I can use grade level phonics to decode words.
RL 2.1 I can ask and answer questions such as who, what, where, when, why, and how to show understanding of a text.
Writing
W.1-4 I can write opinion, informative and narrative pieces with guided support from adults and peers.
Math
2.OA.B.2 I can fluently add/subtract within 20 using mental strategies.
2.NBT.B.5 I can fluently add/subtract within 100.
2.OA.A.1 I can solve one and two step addition/subtraction word problems within 100.
