My name is Andrew Mahon, I'm a musician, composer and producer as well as a teacher. I have played guitar since I was 9 years old and began performing professionally at 18. I've toured the UK in a rock band and had music I've written broadcast on BBC Radio 1 and BBC6 Music - the coolest radio station on the planet!
I've performed onstage with bands like Kasabian, Field Music, Maximo Park and The Futureheads and more recently I've been writing music for TV and Radio adverts for the likes of Chevrolet and the Royal Institute of British Architects. I began lecturing music a year after I left University as my programme leader asked me to come back and deliver some guest lectures to students on 'Creative Sound' and I've enjoyed working in education, teaching people about how music works and encouraging young people to be creative with their talent ever since.
