PERFORMING ARTS

"This is your beginners call for Act One..."

So, you want to study Performing Arts? Join us at Hartlepool Sixth Form!

Hartlepool Sixth Form has been a flourishing home for Performing Arts for over 15 years. Boasting specialist in-house theatre facilities and teaching space, industry connections, and experienced and supportive staff, it's the perfect places for developing and furthering your skills and knowledge of the industry.

Our college has been a spring board for many successes and careers, from community artists to cruise ship performers, writers and producers to West End and Broadway performers, teachers, directors, and even Olivier and Tony Award nominees and winners! Past students have continued on to top London theatre schools, prestigious conservatoires and universities nationwide, with some even diving straight into work, and YOU can too.

What to expect and what is expected...

During your time here, you can expect to establish and strengthen skills across all three disciplines for 'triple threat' performance (singing, acting and dance). Whilst our aim is to support and develop you as a well-rounded performer, our students can target units and assessments through their preferred pathway discipline.

There are a variety of units within the course, designed to enhance your performance training, academic and theoretical understanding of the industry, and encourage and develop your creativity. You will explore an array of genres, styles and techniques across all disciplines of performance and technical theatre, investigating a variety of practitioners, alongside working with industry professionals, and you will prepare yourself for a multitude of tasks, projects, and performance opportunities and events, both in-house and within our local/regional community.

We're a college that cares and inspires

Our students know that the best work and results come from a foundation of respect and hard work. They know their opinions, values and suggestions for course content, and training specifics, will always be considered and included (were suitable), and, in return, they show up, remain open to techniques, exercises and genres, and give it everything!
