PRESIDENT - Kai McLaughlin
Kai is not just a leader; he's a force of nature with a passion for business that's been burning bright since he first set foot in San Francisco during his sophomore year. It was there, amidst the bustling tech and finance industry, that Kai's entrepreneurial spirit was ignited, setting him on a path towards a future in business and technology.
Since then, Kai has been on a relentless pursuit to immerse himself in the world of business, with aspirations to continue this journey in college. His dedication to learning and growth is evident not only in his academic pursuits but also in his extracurricular activities and community involvement.
Driven by a genuine desire to help others succeed, Kai has been actively tutoring since freshman year, leveraging his knowledge and experience to support his peers in their academic endeavors. This mentorship and guidance is further reflected in Kai's entrepreneurial ventures, which began at the young age of 12 when he started selling chocolate door-to-door to fund a school field trip. Since then, Kai has honed his pitching skills and entrepreneurial mindset, laying the foundation for future success in the business world.
Beyond academics and entrepreneurship, Kai's interests are diverse and multifaceted. From his early days on the basketball court at the age of 5 to capturing the action behind the lens as a sports photographer and videographer, Kai's love for sports and visual storytelling knows no bounds. His involvement in VTV and his contributions to basketball and football mixtapes and photography showcase his creativity and versatility.
Despite the challenges of changing school districts four times, Kai has embraced each new opportunity as a chance to meet new people and expand his horizons. Fueling Kai's passion for learning is his voracious appetite for knowledge, with Scott Galloway standing out as a favorite author whose insights continue to inspire and inform his worldview.
As a state finalist and district overall finalist, Kai has already left an indelible mark on the DECA community, embodying the values of leadership, innovation, and excellence. As DECA President, Kai's vision, dedication, and boundless enthusiasm will undoubtedly propel the organization to even greater heights, inspiring future generations of leaders to pursue their passions and make a difference in the world of business and beyond.
