About Mrs. Mares

My name is Marisa Mares. This will be my 8th year teaching at Arroyo Seco. I grew up in Santa Clarita and am a product of the Hart District. In addition to a teaching credential, I earned both a B.S. in Biological Sciences and an M.A. in Education from UC Davis. I consider myself a lifelong learner and am always looking for ways to continue growing as an educator and person. I am very close with my family and enjoy spending time with them whenever I can. My husband is a registered veterinary technician and works at a hospital in the valley. We currently have two dogs and three cats, that we love and care for immensely. In my free time, I like to relax at home, play video games or board games, read books, play the piano and hang out with my pets. Some of my favorite things are Pokemon, How to Train Your Dragon & the Legend of Zelda. Yes, I am a nerd.
